Overview

This educational activity is designed to address existing knowledge, practice, and interdisciplinary coordination gaps among physicians involved in the care of patients with stroke, cerebrovascular disease, and functional neurological disorders. Despite significant advances in evidence-based management, neuroimaging, endovascular therapies, and functional neurosurgical interventions, variability remains in clinicians’ familiarity with current guidelines, emerging treatment strategies, and procedural workflows across diverse practice settings. In addition, fragmented care delivery and limited understanding of evolving multidisciplinary roles can hinder effective coordination among specialties involved in patient management.

This course will provide participants with practical, evidence-based updates on contemporary stroke and cerebrovascular care, as well as emerging minimally invasive therapies for functional disorders, including MR-Guided Focused Ultrasound. Through an interdisciplinary educational approach, learners will enhance their knowledge of current best practices, strengthen collaborative decision-making and communication across specialties, and improve their ability to integrate evolving evidence and coordinated care strategies into clinical practice to optimize patient outcomes.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

1. Describe recent advances in clinical evidence, guideline updates, and best-practice recommendations relevant to the management of stroke, cerebrovascular disease and functional Neurosurgery.

2. Apply contemporary evidence and imaging-informed principles to clinical decision-making, including patient selection, procedural considerations, and participation in advanced therappeutic workflows.

3. Identify practical, evidence-based opportunities to align individual clinical practice and interdisciplinary collaboration with current standards of stroke and cerebrovascular care within existing local systems.
