Objectives
  1. 1. Describe stages A through C of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and approaches to management
  2. 2. Summarize steps taken to reduce heart failure readmissions, and the roles of nurse practitioners in caring for heart failure patients
  3. 3. Identify "red flags", or signs of progressive heart failure to stage D, and timing of referral for consideration of LVAD and heart transplant
  4. 4. Explain different groups of pulmonary hypertension and general management
  5. 5. Recognize defining features of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), and approaches to management
  6. 6. Identify and manage conditions that mimic HFpEF, such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and cardiac amyloidosis
  7. 7. Describe temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support devices for cardiogenic shock (IABP, Impella, VA-ECMO)
  8. 8. Summarize the latest advances in heart transplantation
